What's In It Wednesday

Every Wednesday we'll bring you "What's In It Wednesday". A blog about what's in typical bath and beauty products, including the good, the bad and the ugly. We want you to know what we use or don't use in our products and why!

This week's ingredient is one of the essential oils we use in our soaps:  Lemongrass.  Essential oils are liquids containing aroma compounds from plants.  They are not really oils, but called this because they don't mix well with water.

Lemongrass essential oil has several benefits when applied to the skin.  It has antimicrobial properties, which means it helps kill bacteria and fungi.  Thus it's good for acne. It's also an anti-inflammatory, thus it's good for swelling and pain.  Lemongrass essential oil is often used as a bug repellent and in aromatherapy to reduce anxiety.

This is some good stuff!
