What's In It Wendesday
Every Wednesday we'll bring you "What's In It Wednesday". A blog about what's in typical bath and beauty products, including the good, the bad and the ugly. We want you to know what we use or don't use in our products and why!
Today's ingredient is: rosemary extract! We use it in our soaps. So what is it?
It's exactly what it sounds like: oil extracted from the rosemary plant. It's common uses are in foods, medicines, and as an antioxidant. Topically, it's used as an insect repellent, to heal wounds, to treat eczema, sciatica, and for muscle pain.
Why do we use it in our soaps? It has wonderful antioxidant properties, which helps naturally extend the shelf life of soap products without using artificial preservatives that add chemicals. It's a huge bonus that it smells good, repels insects, and has medicinal effects when applied topically. We've even had a customer tell us using our soap has helped her daughter's eczema.
